Meet the Principal

IMG 9196.jpg
I am Rebekah Rocha, the Principal at CCLA. I am so excited to be a part of this team! I have taught in Dual Immersion programs and have also been an Assistant Principal in a Two Way Immersion school. I am entering my fourth year as Principal at CCLA. I have three children, and my 4th grade daughter attends Cesar Chavez Language Academy. My son is in 8th grade at a different Dual Immersion program. I truly believe in the mission of Two Way Bilingual Immersion. It is an amazing gift to give your child the opportunity to become Bilingual, Biliterate, and Bicultural! As a child, I was surrounded by the Spanish language. My parents were a part of the United Farm Workers Movement, my father organized and marched with Cesar Chavez. My life has come full circle as I now have the opportunity to lead a school named after him. I mastered Spanish with an immersion experience. I have lived in Mexico several times during my life, studying at UNAM in M exico CIty, working in orphanages in Oaxaca and Mexico City, as well as teaching in Monterrey, Mexico.
